Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. She was born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996 and professionally known as Aurora. Her name can also be stylized by the name AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from music blogs as well as from the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two of the most notable covers the singer has created. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to play music only to have fun or to aid in development but instead, she was encouraged to explore it. Her parents encouraged her to compose. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love of Bjork's style. After her mother said that the songs she composed were not meant to be famous for her, however, but to encourage people to realize their own value and impact on this world, she started playing them on stage. As a young girl, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine began writing her own songs. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora's success was never her dream. As she says, she simply loves writing music. For her, music is the only method to experience anything.
